Monica earned her Bachelor and Master of Businesses Administration with an emphasis in accounting from Pittsburg State University in 1991 and 1992, respectively. Upon graduation, she accepted a position as an auditor with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Inspector General in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1995, she returned to Pittsburg and continued her career in auditing as the first internal auditor at Pittsburg State University. Upon passing the CPA Exam in 1998, she started her current career in public accounting.
