Ronald B. Hegt, CPA

Mr. Hegt has been active with the AICPA for over 25 years. He has been a spokesman for the AICPA before Congress' Small Business Subcommittee, where he has testified in the past on multiple occasions. He has also served on and chaired various other AICPA committees such as the National Financial Literacy Commission, Individual Tax Committee, Tax Accounting Committee, and the S Corp. Taxation Technical Resource Panel. Mr. Hegt chairs and speaks regularly at various technical conferences and has previously been honored by the New York State Society of CPA’s as the Outstanding Discussion Leader of the Year.

Prior to the business combination with Crowe Horwath LLP Ronald B. Hegt, CPA, was a partner of Hays & Company LLP.  He specializes in tax planning and compliance for both high net-worth individuals and privately held businesses. Mr. Hegt is an expert in domestic, state and local, expatriate, and gift/estate taxes. As a frequent contributor to USA Today, Mr. Hegt hosts an annual live column on tax planning. He has also co-authored several articles in recent years for the Tax Adviser and The Trusted Professional and served on the editorial board of The Tax Adviser.

Mr. Hegt holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He resides in New York with his wife and two sons.
